GIVEN THAT WE ALL ARE DECENDENTS OF A PEOPLE THAT WERE TAKEN THROUGH THE EUROPEAN'S EVIL GENIUS THREE STEP PROCESS OF DERACINATION, I.E. DEAFRIKANIZATION, DEHUMANIZATION AND INFERIORTIZATION, THE INDIVIDUAL SEARCH FOR SECURITY UNDER OUR PRESENT CONDITION AND THE QUEST FOR PERSONAL HARMONY AND PRIVATE SUCCESS AT THE COST OF BETRAYING OUR COLLECTIVE ASPIRATIONS FOR SELF-DETERMINATION REQUIRES LITTLE COURAGE, VISION OR RISK. SUCH EFFORTS ACCEPT THE SOCIAL ORDER (DISORDER) AS IMMUTABLE. BUT, IN ORDER FOR AFRIKAN PEOPLE TO BE ABLE TO DEFEND, DEFINE AND DEVELOP IN OUR OWN IMAGE AND INTEREST; A NEW COURAGE, NEW VISION, NEW CONSCIOUSNESS, COMMITMENT AND CONDUCT IS REQUIRED. THE DEHUMANIZING ENEMY WITHOUT MUST BE NEUTRALIZED—AT LEAST PSYCHO-CULTURALLY AND SOCIO-MATERIALLY, JUST AS THE ENEMY WITHIN MUST BE EJECTED. NEITHER CAN OCCUR WITHOUT SERIOUS STUDY AND WORK THROUGH OUR OWN AFRIKAN EYES AND ORGANIZED TECHNOLOGICALLY SOPHISTICATED INDEPENDENT INSTITUTIONAL DEVELOPMENT. The average reader of this book always misconstrues it's purpose. The purpose of this book is not to be descriptive, but prescriptive. In other words, The Destruction is not meant to serve solely as a history book. The book's purpose is to provide Afrikan people with an historical background into Afrikan-specific problems of the past, while at the same time, giving viable solutions to what Afrikan people should do to solve the same, lingering problems that slavery, colonialism, and neo-colonialism are very definitely at the root of. One of Mr. Williams' most brilliant observances is the politcal role that Arabs and Islam have played in and among Afrikan people. He cogently and correctly exposes how Afrika and her people have been historically duped and demeaned, not only by Europeans [Chrisitans] and Asians, but by Arabs also. This one issue has been the most talked about, but the least understood. To extract the true essence and point of book one need but look at its subtitle - "Great Issues of a Race from 4500 B.C. to 2000 A.D." That says it all right there. Chancellor Williams, visionary that he was, knew that by the start of the new millenium, Afrikan people would be suffering the same problems that Afrikan people of 4500 B.C. suffered unless . . .

I have extracted the chapter presented in the iPaper below for the following reason. Dr. Amos Wilson taught me that the main purpose of this classic work is this last prescriptive chapter. The Shape of Things to Come: A Master Plan; to give New Afrikan people a blueprint toward true power and an understanding of who we are and who we still have to be in this world. A most excellent study that prompts one to move from theory to practice!!

It is very much in keeping with RBG FROLINAN’s proposal, treaty and liberation programs and thus, a pivotal part of the collection.

A Black Perspective of American History (e-Book) and African-American Freedom Struggle (Video)




OVERALL GOALS OF THE COMMUNIVERSITY

1. To familiarize and expose learners to a wide variety of 19th and 20th century African-American leaders and our rich history of struggles for human and civil right,national liberation and self determination.

2. To engage learners in a Concentrically Integrated African-Centered Web 2.0 Liberal Arts Curriculum--including, online mini-lectures, commentaries and interviews from our authors, playwrights, poets, activist and scholars--that will enable large amounts of information to be comprehended in a relatively short period of time.

3. To continue the development of an appreciation of Afrikan-Centered Education propagated through the Afrikan oral & musical traditions; including Afrikan Drums, Spoken Word / Rap, R & B, Blues, Jazz and Reggae.

4. To draw lessons from the rich legacy of struggle and resistance to oppression within the African American community through critical analysis of videos, photo-stories, multimedia essays and PowerPoint shows and scholarly charts, tables, graphs and PDF documents; thus fostering socio-political activism in the learners own lives.

5. To develop, encourage and diversify strategies for learning about and responding to social, political, cultural and moral issues impacting Afrikans in America, thus increasing comprehension and interpretation skills.

6. To synthesize serious community issues using multi-faceted content and learning objects which represent the perspective of those who are in an American minority group; and apply said principles and generalizations in investigation of societal issues and problems from an Afrikan-Centered perspective.

7. Finally and most importantly, to teach and learn from aspiring and seasoned teachers within a sophisticated SDL (Self Directed Learning)--e classes environment how to become more effective teachers, leaders and activist. We sharpen academic professionals and community educators / street scholars skills in the areas of public speaking, reading and writing critically and designing captivating presentation suitable for both whole-group and small-group settings. In other words, this is where the tutors (RBG Street Scholar) and other facilitators teach you how to become inspirer and healer of our people. Not only do we develop your skills, but we also provides you with the content to do you thang. You will even learn how to modify the content provided such that it becomes a new derivative product all you own; to do what you will, ie. teach from it, barter it etc.
